Mrs. Michelle Pender of Hanceville Middle School in Hanceville, Alabama. You can ask any students or parents, past and present and all would agree that Mrs. Pender is a very special teacher. She is not only a great classroom teacher but she is also a very loving teacher. She teaches the student not just the things the course of study says to teach but she teaches them about life, love, and good character. I have made the comment that I wish my daughter, who has her in kindergarten, could have her as a teacher all the way through the rest of school career. Many parents I have spoken with have the same opinion. She supports them in activities at school and outside of school. Her students are her life and I feel so blessed that my daughter was able to spend her first year of school with this compassionate woman. I am a teacher as well at the middle school and I truly know what kind of job teachers have. Mrs. Pender truly deserves this award more than anyone I know.

Mrs. Heather Zacharias of Northridge High School in Dayton, Ohio has to be the most honorable and respectable teacher I have ever had the great opportunity of knowing. Sometimes I read news articles and wish there was a way to get her noticed just as much as some of the other outstanding teachers. She always goes out of her way to help students both inside and outside of the classroom. Whenever I or anyone else has a slight to major problem she acts just like a counselor we can rely on to help us through. She also makes things fun in class. Instead of doing just plain book projects or assignments, she will spice it up to make us more into it. She may not know it but all of her past and current students love her to pieces, and I just know the future students will as well.

Erin - Sorry to hear this. Everyone has their own methods of study that seem to work best for them. Our flashcards are the most popular and frequently used feature of StudyBlue but we understand if you do not find them useful for your particular needs. If you did not utilize the flashcard feature at all, why did you choose to put notes on StudyBlue rather than another site such as Google Docs and Evernote, which allow for flexibility and portability options as well?

I find the flashcards totally useless; notes were the only element I ever used. Well done, StudyBlue. You just lost yourself a customer.

Keri jean diangelis Of Northampton community college in Pennsylvania is the most amazing teacher I have had the pleasure of meeting. She makes anatomy and physiology really interesting and easy to understand. She relates everything to make it so interesting that you cannot help but retain it. No matter she speaks with so much energy, even when she isn't feeling well, that you can't help but pay attention. Her love for her subject is so strong that it rubs off on her students. This is one professor I will truly miss. Please, I truly believe she deserves this award. I actually went searching for a teaching award on google to nominate her!

Hey, here's an idea. Instead of StudyBlue just responding to comments by saying,

"(Username) - Could you please explain why using notes was better on StudyBlue than on other programs?",
or,
"(Username) - Could you please explain why you do not like uploading notes from Evernote or Google Docs, as compared to directly using StudyBlue?",

maybe they could just say, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We'll return notes to our program."

Please do not mention my name to her when yall give this award to her until the end. Mrs Nancy q Miller is a very respectable biology teacher at Canton South High School. She is very generous.For example ever time I was absent for a long period of time because of medical things she would email me or send me a gift or two. I am glad she became a teacher and that is my teacher this year. She care for all her student. The student she taught in the past, now and future was and is and will love her and glad she was their biology teachershe would give me time to make up work. She never pressed me on my grades. You can joke around at a certain time with her. She will help anyone the best she can.

Sarah - We have close to 1.4 million users and, based on our own data observations, the majority of those users spend most of their time on our site utilizing the flashcard and quiz tools we offer. As a smaller company, our time and resources are limited and we have decided to focus on the pieces of our site that are most heavily used.

You are right to say that there should have been notification regarding this ability to add/edit notes going away. We sent out emails a week or so in advance drawing notice to this blog post and used a number of social media outlets but it was clearly not enough. We apologize for this and inconvenience that has been caused.

Dhoward9 - There is no monetary aspect behind our decision to get rid of the ability to create/edit notes on StudyBlue. Our site is still completely free, aside from our Premium service that does not and has never included any extra note capabilities.

We are reading the comments and can see this decision made has not been a popular one among a number of individuals. We do offer new capabilities for flashcard creation and sharing, including a much more powerful search option, and hopefully you'll be able to check them out. Okay, I did not find Evernote effective and it's a huge hassle to try to upload everything from Google Docs with all the copy/paste afterwords. I'll be looking for a better alternative for online studying other than StudyBlue in the near future.

I can't believe you guys are doing this to us midway through the semester. I can't believe you guys care more about the monetary aspect rather than being a help to students across the nation who USED this powerful tool. Read the comments! I understand how people can use other tools, like Google Docs, to make and share notes, but on StudyBlue I found it much more convenient to do everything on one site. Evernote sounds like something I'll be willing to try, but its almost a hassle to make another account on another website when previously I was able to get everything done on one app and one site.
